Parliamentary Committees meetings in progress

All Parliamentary Standing Committees are convening in Dar es Salaam for two weeks from 28th May - 8th June, 2012 to deliberate on the agenda for the 8th Parliamentary BUDGET session which begins on 12th June 2012.

The Committee meetings, which are procedural, will receive reports on the performance and implementation of the budget for the last year and deliberate matters on budget for the coming financial year 2012/2013 form different Ministries, Agencies and MDA’s as assigned to them by the Speaker.

Apart from those reports and plans for the next year Budget, Committees will also conduct physical performance audit (value for money) in some of the government developments projects undertaken for the last financial year for the aim of fulfilling their constitutional role of oversight, and other business as stipulated by Parliamentary Standing Orders.

The Committees session will end on 8th June 2012 and all Members will be traveling to Dodoma for the next BUNGE Session which will start on Tuesday 12 June, 2012
